How was your Christmas?

I hope you all had a good day. Christmas in DeLand was good. It was overcast and a little rainy with a slight chill in the air, which I preferred to a hot, sunny Christmas day!

Stella and Bella love the new toys and chew sticks that Santa brought. Santa also brought Levi a new catnip toy (in the form of a little squirrel) and treats. My job is to keep the the dogs away from the squirrel.

Linda and Joe had turkey breast stuffed with spinach, ham, and lots of garlic. Linda also made green beans almondine and cranberry salad. I made lasagna (for Marissa, the vegetarian) and brought a spiral ham. I managed to bake several varieties of cookies for Christmas: wedding cookies (my mom's recipe), turtle brownies, peanut blossoms and cream cheese chocolate chip cookies. I really wanted to make pizzelles, but I don't have a pizzelle iron (yet). Linda has a small one and I brought it home. I'll try to make them for New Year's Day. I used to help Mom make them every year, but I've never attempted to make the batter myself. If they turn out well, I'll buy a pizzelle iron the next time I visit New Castle (which I plan to do for Easter). I really missed everyone back home in PA, but it was great to talk to some of you on the phone.

No surprise that I was absolutely exhausted when I got home last night. My back is still bothering me. The last 3 days I've managed to take the dogs for a walk, so I HAVE to continue to do this, for their sake and mine!

Gonna take it easy today. Watch a movie and do some laundry. And maybe take a nap.

I was in such a crabby mood on Christmas Eve that I didn't post about the really good weekend I had. I'll try to post about that later.

Brub got me a lap top for Christmas and I am determined to become more computer literate.
I want to play with some of my photos that I have on my computer. I use them as my screen saver, but I would like to attempt to make a music/photo albums with this new program Chris got for Christmas. I haven't programmed into my computer yet, but I will soon. I guess you are permitted to use it in 3 computers.
We ate a lot. Chris got me a yoga tape and starting Jan. 1, I will be doing yoga and changing my lifestyle habits (that is if I can break away from my new toy listed in the above paragraph).
I have been off of work the last 4 days (I took them off for the holiday since Jess was home) and I really hate the thought of going back tomorrow. I am having the time of life without work interference. I could really enjoy retirement if I were old enough.
I really hate when Jess goes home, I enjoy her being here so much. Soon Chris will be on his own. It is tough when your children grow up and leave home. I am so glad Brub and I get along so well.
Soon another year will be behind us. As I age, time really flies.
I hope this coming year brings us all good health, happiness, love, and great friendships.
Have a great day :)
love ya
