Better pack some heat when you go Christmas shopping...

...or wear full-body armor. You may end up participating in a shootout at the OK Corral, better known as Toys 'R Us or you may find yourself under the feet of delirious shoppers in your local Wal-Mart. Pretty sad that we covet TOYS and GAMES so much that we're willing to disregard the safety of others. I don't think that's why we celebrate Christmas, but when there are people who are offended just because you say, "Merry Christmas," well I guess we shouldn't be surprised...we get what we deserve. There's your "Bah, humbug" moment for the day.

We had a great time with my nephew Steve last Sunday watching the Steelers crush the Pats. We watched the game at my bro's house. He'll be back in 2 weeks with his family to do the Disney thing. I have to admit, Disney looks great decorated for Christmas. Very festive!

Today I get to have an injection of a steroid in my ear. Gee, can't wait. I truly hope it helps.

Hi Sue, I am so sorry I haven't written on your blog in such a long time. I've been kind of pre-occupied with Jim and Dolly's blog. He's not doing so well with cancer and it's kind of taken a lot of my focus.
Anyway, I have my own "Bah humbug" moment to share with you! :-)
We went to get our Christmas tree at our traditional Christmas tree farm on the day after Thanksgiving. At the entrance to the farm there is a fairly steep Pennsylvania type of a hill. We were lined up with several other cars waiting to drive up this hill when the car in front of us started to back up rapidly. We gasp and Gary honked the horn (politely) twice. We had no indication that the guy had head our horn or had seen us, so we were quite shaken up. Thankfully he stopped right at our front bumper. When we got parked he jumped out of his car and started calling Gary and idiot for honking his horn. This man was in his 60s with a Santa hat on no less! I started telling his wife that we had just been in an accident where someone backed straight into us, never seeing us or hearing our horn because of his radio, I explained to her that my daughter was terrified because she thought the same thing was happening again. The lady started yelling at me, while the man was yelling at Gary. She totally ignored our shaky voices and the fear from our last accident and kept on yelling and making fun of us and saying that her husband has been driving for 50 years and would NEVER have an accident. Finally we walked away and I sat down the porch of the home and just sobbed, while Nathaniel and Bethany comforted me. The couple stormed off to cut down their Christmas tree! Yippee! Merry Christmas to you! It was hard pulling out of that and enjoying our Christmas tree cutting event. What shocks me is how amazingly mean some people can be and in the name of Christmas. Gary says that I am naive and I suppose I am. I just can't imagine behaving like that! Anyway, I just had to share my “Bah Humbug” story with you.
Have a super day and lets all remember the “reason for the season!”
Blessings
